Dreaming of the perfect surf session? An incredible fishing trip? Or simply a stroll with your feet in the water? In Mimizan, it all starts with checking the tide tables!

Understanding the tides at Mimizan

Understanding the tides at Mimizan
Our seaside resort lives to the rhythm of the tides. Twice a day, the ocean rises and falls, creating the fascinating spectacle that is the charm of our Landes coastline. And no, it’s not the ocean taking naps, it’s just the natural cycle of the tides!

Why consult the tide tables?

For surfers: Choose the best time to catch THE perfect wave.
For fishermen: Optimize your fishing or surf-casting sessions.
For families: Take advantage of the large beaches at low tide for sandcastles.
For walkers: Discover the treasures left by the ocean during your strolls.

Tidal coefficient: what's it all about?

The higher the coefficient (between 20 and 120), the greater the difference between high and low tide. If the coefficient is over 95, prepare yourself for an impressive spectacle!
